Kartini's Day that celebrated every April 21 should not only be used as ceremonial activities. But it should be a boost for women to develop their potential such as involved into politics.

Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidajat said, although many activities that can be done in politics, there are still many women who are allergic to be involved in it.
"Kartini's Day is not only about ceremonial. I prefer all Kartini (Indonesian Woman) could become president like Mrs. Megawati," told Djarot, at City Hall, Tuesday (4/21).

So he wants to encourage women in Indonesia to develop her ability, especially in the politics. "Women should be able to be a leader, join political parties and active in organization," he said.
Djarot added, although there are women who become board members currently, their roles is still lacking because their representation under 30 percent.
"We still need more women in Jakarta City Council. I know it because I am the party member. It has been difficult to meet the 30 percent representation. Moreover, when we formulate legislative woman candidates is also difficult as hell," he uttered.
